Global Grooves' 'Future Leaders Programme' transformed the outlook of a group of talented young musicians

Future Leaders is a new programme of arts apprenticeships for young people, developed by carnival arts organisation Global Grooves.  Over a series of residential weekends, young people with a strong interest in carnival arts extend their practical skills and knowledge in music-making, dance, and visual arts, as well as gaining project management experience, guided by leading artists and professionals in their field.  For many young participants, it's a step up into careers within the carnival arts and music sectors.   The programme was piloted in 2014 and we hope to offer more opportunities in 2015 - visit our website for more details and to see our 10-minute evaluation film from 2014.
