Hi Jo,

Thanks for your questions and for your post on the Youth Music network. That's great that you want to start up a Youth Music project in your area.
If you already have an idea of what you want to do and would like to apply to Youth Music for funding, then if you click on the link at the top of the page titled 'I need funding' you can find all the information you need to get started. Make sure you read through the 'Suitability' section first to check that your organisation is eligible to apply for Youth Music funding.

If you're not quite at that stage yet - then I would recommend making contact with some local music-making organisations in your area - they might have programmes that you and your young people can get involved in, or provide advice and ideas about how to get started or be able to signpost you to other useful organisations or sources of funding. Here are some organisations that you might find useful to contact;

(they have just delivering a music project in Newark)

Thanks that's really helpful.
I'm looking at maybe approaching the local secondary school and using them as a platform to maybe start something that benefits the community.
I've already spoke to a local organisation just awaiting their reply for some advice and mentoring
