Sound Of Bronze SeeSaw Summer Activity
Event description
Want something fun and a bit different to do from home during the school holidays?!
Sound Of Bronze is a music project for young people aged 7+ that uses unique bronze percussion instruments from Indonesia (called ‘gamelan’) as a way of exploring music and making friends. Check out what we usually do in this 3-minute video here.
Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to run our usual sessions in person at the University of York but we are delighted to have developed a series of creative and educational activities that can be done at your leisure during the month of August.
Activities will be released every Thursday afternoon in August via the SeeSaw app. Young people wishing to take part should sign up with a parent/guardian here.
Young people can dip into this as they wish, or do the whole thing in order to earn an Explore level Arts Award. Arts Award Explore is an Entry Level (Entry 3) qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is designed for ages 7 and above.
There is no cost to families to take part in this, as the Summer Activities have been fully subsidised by our funder, Youth Music.
